Dr. James Altizer graduated from Davidson College (1981) and Medical College of Virginia (1985). After completing his Internal Medicine residency in Augusta, GA, he served as a US Navy Internist in South Carolina and California, including during Desert Storm, receiving five decorations before leaving in 1992. Dr. Altizer practiced as a board-certified Internist for 11 years, then specialized in Phlebology (vein disease) for 17 years, becoming board-certified and doubly credentialed in ultrasound. His surgical expertise led him to stem cell therapies in late 2015. He received training from Duke University-affiliated physicians in bone marrow aspiration and served as guest faculty at The Orthobiologics Institute in 2017, teaching adipose tissue harvesting.
Since beginning stem cell treatments in January 2016, he has performed thousands of regenerative medicine procedures, making him the most experienced practitioner in the Carolinas. Dr. Altizer frequently appears on Charlotte Today with successful patients and emphasizes research-driven care. Known for his integrity and honest patient assessments, he opened NeoGenix, his dedicated stem cell clinic in south Charlotte, in January 2020. He has been a partnered physician with Forever Labs since 2022.
